DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN AMERICORPS MEMBER
Casey Hamilton, Site Coordinator
8:00- Arrive at the Tynan School
8-8:30- Set up site and greet volunteers
8:30-8:45- Prepare for Reading Coaches sessions with students
8:45-10:15- One-on-one Reading Coaches sessions with students and
volunteer support
10:15-11:00- Support classroom teacher during the writing block
with volunteer
11:00-12:30- Lunch and travel to the Marshall School
12:30-3:30- Transport kids from their classroom to the Generations
Incorporated room, mentor students one-on-one, and talk with participating
teachers or school personnel
3:30-5:00- Travel back to the main office, complete paperwork, and
plan for future activities.
