Andrew Balson

Andrew is the Managing Director of Bain Capital, and is a graduate of both Harvard Business School and Princeton. He was first introduced to Generations Incorporated through his wife Melora, who served as the President of our Board of Directors when we were still a very young organization. Together Andrew and Melora have been strong supporters of our program for over a decade because “we believe in the meaninful impact Generations Incorporated's programs have.” They live in Newton with their five children.

 

Libby Blank

Libby is retired after working over 20 years for the Boston Water and Sewer Commission. She has a degree from Sarah Lawrence College and earned her M.C.P. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Libby became an Experience Corps Member with Generations Incorporated in 2004 and is currently a reading coach at the Blackstone School.

 

Elizabeth Blodgett Smith

Elizabeth is President and Founder of Keep On, LLC. Previously, she was a Vice President at Bank of New York Mellon. Her company’s philosophy is to “Keep On” giving; proceeds of sales will be donated to non-profits, including Generations Incorporated. Elizabeth’s background is in strategic planning, business development, M&A’s and project management. She joined us in 2000.

 

Aaron Bullwinkel

Aaron is an attorney with the law firm of Wilson & Orcutt, P.C. in Acton, Massachusetts with a transactional practice focused on commercial lending and small business counseling. In 2005, he returned to the area from Washington, D.C. where he practiced with Haynes and Boone, LLP. Prior to that, Aaron practiced with the international law firm of McDermott, Will & Emery. A National Scholar, he received his undergraduate degree, a Bachelors of Arts in Economics, from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Aaron is currently forming a non-profit corporation with several high school classmates to fund an annual scholarship in honor of their deceased parents. He looks forward to participating as a member of Generations Incorporated.

 

David A. Bryant

David brings to Generations Incorporated the very same passion that he carries with him as Manager of Communications for Preservation of Affordable Housing, Inc. In addition, he has over twenty years of experience in legislative policy and government relations, as a senior lobbyist with the Maryland State Teacher's Association and then with the National Education Association. David has worked with Congress, state and local legislators, and other coalition activists on a wide range of education-related issues. David lives in Brookline with his wife and two children.

Bob Johnson

Bob brings much-needed marketing experience to the board. He currently serves as a consultant for Customer Manufacturing Group and holds a PhD from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. “I have spent almost two decades working in college, graduate and postgraduate education. Massachusetts views itself as a leader in education, yet it is clear to me that the real educational challenges we face are in urban neighborhoods in the primary grades. Generations Incorporated uses undervalued members of the community to address the most pressing issue in education.”

Samantha Levine

Vice President of Board of Directors

As a board member for Generations Incorporated, Samantha draws on her professional experience as a consultant with The Bridgespan Group, a nonprofit consulting firm. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado and the Kellogg School of Management. “I was initially drawn to Generations Incorporated’s vision of elderly Americans as assets in their communities – not people to whom services need to be provided. My time on the board has given me an additional appreciation for the strength of the program model, the dedication of the volunteers, and the compelling results being achieved.”

 

John A. McCullough

President of Board of Directors
John is currently the Senior Regional Manager of Real Estate Finance at HSBC in Boston. He was first introduced to Generations Incorporated over eight years ago while working at Fleet Bank. John felt a personal connection to our programs because he has an older mother and two young children who once struggled to read. As President of the Board, John brings to the table business savvy as well as a passion for our mission and a vision for our future. He also has a strong record of public service. He served with the 1st Cavalry in Vietnam, and previously served as a member of the Partners Council at Training, Inc. He is currently President of the Thousand Island Safe Boating Association.

 

Karen Morton

Karen attended both Tufts University and Northeastern, respectively earning her B.A. and J.D. She has worked for over 20 years as both lawyer and Vice-President of various firms and companies; she currently works at Liberty Mutual. Her career is focused on employment law. Karen has participated in numerous Boston Public Schools pro-bono projects.

 

Brendan Mullen

Brendan received a B.A. from the University of Richmond. He currently works as an investment associate at Putnam Investments. Brendan raised thousands of dollars for charity while president of his fraternity. He also has experience both tutoring and mentoring students.

 

George A. Nicholson

George brings to Generations Incorporated a strong understanding of Boston’s financial sector. He received his MBA from Northeastern University and is also a graduate of Western Michigan University. He lives in Newton with his wife and daughter.

 

Lera Shawver

Lera is attending Simmons College to receive an M.A. and received a B.A. from Middle Tennessee State University. Both a previous volunteer and staff member of Generations Incorporated, Lera also has experience teaching.

 

Lorraine Tegan

Lorraine is co-owner of Communication Technology Services. She has degrees from Regis College and the University of New Hampshire. Lorraine’s long history in education includes many years as a math teacher and recently volunteering with Generations Incorporated and Boston Partners in Education’s Math Initiative.

 

Robert Usen

Bill Wolff

Bill is President of WAW Marketing, Inc. He recently relocated to Boston a couple of years ago, after 37 years in the insurance business. Bill was immediately interested in helping to improve the lives of children in his new neighborhood the South End and found our organization thanks to our partnership with AARP. He currently works with students at Blackstone Elementary School.

Claire has worked in the non-profit sector in many capacities, including a senior management position with Generations Incorporated and as a consultant with TDC, a non-profit consulting and research group. She received a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management from the New School University and is a mother of two.
